“The Lockhart ISD’s student population has grown by 36% over the past ten years. We are expected to grow by another 18% over the next 5 years – that’s over 1,000 new students we will have the honor of educating.
To manage this incredible growth, a Long Range Facilities Planning Committee was formed with residents from across our community who developed a comprehensive, $92 million bond referendum. This plan was developed to help every child in every part of the district with new and renovated schools and classrooms, capital improvements, basic maintenance, new safety and security systems, a new ag science facility and additional space in the high school’s Career and Technical Education wing.
If passed by voters, the tax impact for the owner of an average valued home in Lockhart ISD boundaries will be around $8 per month. Senior citizens will see no increase due to the senior citizen homestead exemption. Please take a few minutes to review the facts about the 2019 Lockhart ISD bond package on this website and remember to vote in the November 5th election.”
